Our Fabulous Writers in Residence

 

We invite (beg, if need be) some of the best writers we know to join us and dispense their wisdom at you over the course of the residency. A guided Artist's Salon with our Writer in Residence at the residency provides you with  opportunity to learn your craft from a master. You might enjoy a guided writing exercise with the incomparable Eleanor Morse, Grand Dame of the Peak's Island literati, or take an intellectual journey into the world of story form with the masterful Robin Lippincott. The purpose of these sessions is to prompt, inspire, stimulate, and invigorate you to the point your head feels like it might unscrew and altogether blow away. Robin Lippincott  MFA

Robin's fiction has been nominated for the IMPAC-Dublin Literary Award, the Independent Book Award, the Pushcart Prize, the American Library Association Roundtable Award, and the Lambda Literary Award. He is a multiple Yaddo fellow as well as a fellow of the MacDowell Colony.  

He teaches in the low-residency MFA Writing Program at Spalding University, and lives in Florida.       

When he is not busy raking in the accolades of his most recent books, Blue Territory, and Rufus + Syd, he leads the quiet unassuming life of an intellectual mastermind. 

 

Eleanor Morse  MFA

Eleanor Morse earned an M.F.A. in creative writing from Vermont College. Her novel An Unexpected Forest won the Independent Publisher's Gold Medalist Award for Best Regional Fiction in the Northeast U.S. and was also selected as the Winner of Best Published Fiction by the Maine Writers and Publishers Alliance at the 2008 Maine Literary Awards. She currently works as an adjunct faculty member with Spalding University's MFA Writing program in Louisville, Kentucky. She lives on Peaks Island, Maine and brings glory to her state on a regular basis.
